WASHINGTON (AP) — With a bandage across one eye and a black bruise near his jaw, Nevada Sen. Harry Reid apologized in a video released by his office for missing the opening day of the new Congress. Reid was injured in an accident while exercising in his home. He also suffered a concussion, an injury that his office had not previously disclosed.
RENO, Nev. (AP) — A California-based company that analyzes real estate data is moving its headquarters to downtown Reno, bringing up to 400 jobs. The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that Clear Capital's new headquarters will be in the Park Center Tower across the street from Aces Ballpark. The company is currently based in Truckee, California.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — The number of film permits issued in Clark County in 2014 has set a record. County officials say 400 film permits were issued for movies, television shows and commercials shot in locations that include the Las Vegas Strip. Most projects require a single film permit. Major motion pictures can require many more.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has entered drug treatment after the Nevada Athletic Commission said he failed a random drug test last month. The commission says Jones tested positive for the main metabolite of cocaine. Jones defeated Daniel Cormier by unanimous decision at UFC 182 in Las Vegas last Saturday night.
