NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — The price of gas continues to plummet, and a spokesman for AAA says that for the first time in five years many Idaho drivers are able to fill up their tanks for less than $2 a gallon.

Dave Carlson with AAA told the Idaho Press-Tribune (http://bit.ly/14pBSOh ) that Idaho saw a drop of 77 cents in December. Idaho's average price for a gallon of gasoline was $3.40 in 2014, but by the end of the year and into the start of 2015 it's become common to find prices as low as $1.95 a gallon.

For most of last year Idaho's prices were above the national average. But by the end of December Idaho's average price dropped by 77 cents, sending the state lower than the national average for the first time.
