Thomas leads 5 in double figures; Hawaii beats Prairie View

HONOLULU (AP) — Mike Thomas scored 14 points to lead five Hawaii players in double figures and the Rainbow Warriors beat Prairie View A&M 76-68 on Tuesday night.

Isaac Fleming added 11 points and Garrett Nevels, Quincy Smith and Negus Webster-Chad scored 10 apiece. Roderick Bobbitt had nine assists for Hawaii (12-4).

A jumper by Prairie View's Montrael Scott tied the game at 58 with 7:26 remaining. The Panthers (2-11) went scoreless over the next 4:25, however, as Nevels scored six during a 10-0 run by Hawaii.

Karim York made 1 of 2 free throws to end Prairie View's drought and Scott made two 3-pointers and a pair of free throws during a 9-2 run which made it 70-66 with 1:33 left.

Fleming made a layup and, after a steal by Bobbitt, Aaron Valdes made a dunk to push Hawaii's lead back to eight with less than a minute left.

Scott led Prairie View with 27 points.
