SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Diamond Henderson scored 15 points, Briana Day had 11 points, 9 rebounds and a career-high 7 blocked shots and No. 21 Syracuse overwhelmed Central Connecticut State 74-43 on Tuesday.

Cornelia Fondren added 12 points and Alexis Peterson 11 for the Orange (10-3).

The Blue Devils (4-7), which trailed 36-20 at the half, shot just 30 percent and had 28 turnovers. TeJahne Malone and Nicole Ferguson had nine points apiece and Kayla Miller had 11 rebounds.

CCSU outrebound Syracuse 43-34, including 19 offensive rebounds, but didn't turn that into much. The Orange went 20 of 27 from the foul line while the Blue Devils were 3-4.

Brittany Sykes, in her second game since an injury in the NCAA tournament last year, had 5 points, 4 rebounds 3 steals and 2 assists for Syracuse, which closed the first half on a 10-0 run and steadily pulled away in the second half.
