NORTHRIDGE, Calif. (AP) — Ty Charles scored 14 of his 17 points in the second half as Stephen F. Austin came from behind and then held on to beat Cal State Northridge 61-57 on Monday night.

Trailing 34-25 at the break, SFA started the second period scoring nine unanswered points. Later Charles nailed a 3-pointer to start an 11-0 run for a 48-39 lead with 10:32 left in the game. Charles hit another 3 to give the Lumberjacks a 57-47 lead with 3:52 remaining.

The Matadors charged back as Devonte Elliott made a free throw, Stephen Maxwell drove for a layup, Landon Drew nailed a 3-pointer and Maxwell slipped in for another layup to close to 57-55 with 45 seconds left. Charles and Jacob Parker, who had 12 points, made four free throws to seal the win for SFA (10-3), which has won nine straight games.

Maxwell had 17 points for the Matadors (3-11).
