CHICAGO (AP) — Clarke Rosenberg and Montana Byrd scored 12 points apiece as Chicago State held on for a 69-66 win over Nebraska-Omaha on Monday night.

Chicago State (4-11) took a 36-25 advantage into the break but lost the lead early in the second half as Omaha (6-6) rallied with a 22-5 run fueled by 3-pointers from CJ Carter and Marcus Tyus to make it 47-41 with 13:39 to go. Omaha stretched its lead to 10 before Chicago State responded with a 17-4 burst to retake the lead on a trio of free throws from Byrd that made it 64-61 with 3:36 left.

The Cougars padded the margin at the free throw line and held on down the stretch. Rahjan Muhammad contributed 11 points for Chicago State, which shot 44.9 percent from the floor and 8 of 16 from beyond the arc.
