TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Richaun Holmes scored 19 points, grabbed nine rebounds and blocked four shots to lead Bowling Green to a 79-70 win over South Florida on Sunday.
Jehvon Clarke added 15 points, Jovan Austin scored 11 and Zack Denny 10 for Bowling Green (7-3).
Holmes converted a three-point play with 10 minutes left to give Bowling Green an 56-48 lead before Anthony Collins scored or assisted on seven points during a 9-2 run by USF which cut its deficit to one.
A 10-3 spurt by Bowling Green, capped by 3-pointers from Clarke and Denny, made it 72-63 with 2:42 remaining. Corey Allen Jr.'s 3-pointer pulled the Bulls within 75-70.
Bowling Green and the Bulls shot 50 and 51 percent from the field, respectively, but the Falcons made 9 of 22 from 3-point range while USF was 4-of-13.
Chris Perry led South Florida (6-7) with 21 points, Anthony Collins had 20 and Allen 17.
