NEW YORK (AP) — Odds-on favorite The Lewis Dinner and long-shot Chasing Bubbles won the $150,000 New York Stallion Stakes for 2-year-olds at Aqueduct on Sunday afternoon.
The Lewis Dinner took the filly division by 4 3/4 lengths over Kathy's Humor as the 1-5 favorite. With a third straight win, she improved to 3-2-1 in six starts for trainer Rudy Rodriguez. Manuel Franco was aboard for the six furlongs in 1:12.46. The Lewis Dinner paid $2.60 to win.
Chasing Bubbles pulled a 16-1 upset in the open division, beating 1-2 favorite Disco Partner by 1 1/2 lengths for his second win in six starts. The colt trained by Ken McPeek and ridden by Israel Rodriguez paid $35 to win. The time was 1:12.65.
