GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Terry Whisnant scored 17 points and dished out six assists to lead East Carolina to a 71-50 win over UNC-Greensboro on Sunday.
Caleb White contributed 14 points, including a pair of 3-pointers and hit all six of his shots from the free throw line, and Michel-Ofik Nzege had 12 points for East Carolina (7-6). The Pirates shot 57.5 percent from the floor to win their seventh straight over UNC-Greensboro (4-9).
Whisnant finished 5 for 8 from the floor, including 3 of 4 on 3-pointers.
The Pirates opened with a 9-2 spurt that included a 3 from White to take control of the game early and carried a 45-26 advantage into the break. The margin never fell below double figures during the second half.
Diante Baldwin led UNC-Greensboro with 19 points and six steals.
