ELKHART, Ind. (AP) — A northern Indiana middle school teacher accused of secretly video recording boys showering in a school locker room has been officially fired.
The Elkhart Truth reports (http://bit.ly/1x2ZYrq ) that Elkhart Community Schools board of trustees voted Monday to cancel the teaching and coaching contracts of Jim Iannarelli. He had been a science teacher at West Side Middle School and wrestling coach at Elkhart Memorial High School.
Iannarelli faces 13 felonies following allegations of inappropriate video recordings in a boys' locker room.
West Side Middle School Principal Kristie Stutsman informed Iannarelli of the preliminary decision to cancel his contracts in a Dec. 11 letter, citing immorality, insubordination and other good and just cause. He was given five days to request a conference with Superintendent Rob Haworth. Iannarelli didn't request a conference.
