PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Thomas van der Mars scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Portland over Lewis & Clark 71-49 on Monday.

Bobby Sharp made 4 of 7 3-point attempts for all 12 of his points while Alec Wintering added 10 for the Pilots (8-3). The Pilots shot 48.9 percent to 28.1 for the Pioneers (4-4) and outrebounded the visitors 42-25.

Serg Ovchinnikov made 4 of 7 from the arc in scoring 17 points to lead the Division III Pioneers.

Lewis and Clark led 8-5 but never again after Sharp bookended a 9-0 run with a pair of 3-pointers. Gabe Taylor's bucket with 7:40 left in first half put Portland ahead 26-16 and the lead never went under double digits thereafter. The advantage grew to 30 points after an 8-0 run with 10:19 left.

Portland played without leading scorer Kevin Bailey, who has missed five straight games with a foot injury.
