COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — A 7-year-old Montana boy has died after being pulled from a northern Idaho hotel swimming pool.

The Coeur d'Alene Police Department in a statement Sunday tells The Spokesman-Review (http://bit.ly/1AXEtIN) that the child from Missoula died shortly after being removed from life support.

Police say the boy on Friday was diving in the deep end of the pool at Spring Hill Suites in Coeur d'Alene but at one point didn't surface.

Police say the boy's father and another hotel guest performed CPR until emergency crews arrived.

The boy was then flown to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington.

The boy's name hasn't been released.
