DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Kendall Pollard and Darrell Davis each scored a career-high 19 points to help Dayton roll to a 78-62 victory over Boston University on Saturday night.
Davis was 5 of 5 from long range. Pollard, making his first career-start, finished shooting 7-of-13 from the field with eight boards.
Dayton was without juniors Jalen Robinson and Devon Scott, who were dismissed Wednesday for behavior detrimental to the team.
Jordan Sibert scored 11 points and dished out four assists, and Scoochie Smith had 10 points and matched a career-best with eight assists for Dayton, which shot 26 of 50 from the field (52 percent).
Davis hit three-straight 3's to give Dayton (8-2) its largest lead of the second half, 57-45 with 13:12 left. Cedric Hankerson hit back-to-back 3s, and Nathan Dieudonne made two free throws and a dunk to pull BU within 59-55 with 10:27 to go.
Dayton closed on a 19-7 surge, with BU not hitting another field goal until Eric Fanning's jumper with less than a minute left.
Hankerson scored 25 points and Dieudonne had 16 points with 11 boards for the Terriers (3-7).
