SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Police say they've arrested a woman suspected of leaving two disabled men under her care in filthy conditions.

Authorities say the woman was drunk when officers came to the house in Cottonwood Heights Wednesday night.

Police Lt. Mark Askerlund says officers found trash, human and animal feces, food and boxes scattered through the house. He called the conditions filthy and deplorable.

Police removed two disabled men who are immobile and unable to speak.

Askerlund says one man was taken to a hospital for monitoring while the other went home with a family member. Both men are in their 30s.

The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/1Ak8IM0) the woman was booked into the Salt Lake County jail on suspicion of abuse of a vulnerable adult.
