JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — The College Board has approved plans to increase tuition and fees at six of Mississippi's public universities in fall 2015.
Across the eight schools, Mississippi residents will see average tuition for two semesters (fall and spring) go up by an average of 3.2 percent to $6,718 in fall 2014. Rates for certain professional programs will go up by different amounts.
Here are the 2015-2016 rates approved for each university, as well as the percentage change from the current academic year:
— Alcorn State: $6,386, up 3 percent.
— Delta State: $6,012, no change.
— Jackson State: $6,866, up 4 percent.
— Mississippi State: $7,492, up 4.9 percent (includes a $50-a-semester facilities charge).
— Mississippi University for Women: $5,781, up 2.5 percent (includes a $50-a-semester facilities charge).
— Mississippi Valley State: $5,916, no change.
— University of Mississippi: $7,444, up 4.9 percent (includes a $50-a-semester facilities charge approved in November).
— University of Mississippi Medical Center: $7,344, up 5 percent.
— University of Southern Mississippi: $7,224, up 3.5 percent.
