GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Keifer Sykes scored 17 points and Green Bay got off to a quick start to defeat Morehead State 66-50 on Wednesday night.

Carrington Love opened with a 3-pointer and had a three-point play to cap a 12-0 run and the Phoenix (8-2) were never really threatened. Love finished with 12 points.

Brent Arrington had 13 points for the Eagles (4-9).

Soon after Marcus Fuggins put Morehead State on the board about 6½ minutes into the game, Green Bay made seven-straight free throws to push the lead to 23-8 just past the midway point. Kareem Storey hit a 3-pointer at the 3-minute mark to cut the lead to six and it was 36-27 at the break.

Green Bay quickly got the lead into double figures in the second half and the Eagles never challenged.

The Phoenix shot just under 50 percent and made 20 of 35 free throws. Morehead State shot 33 percent and was just 12 of 21 from the line.
