Henriquez, Taylor lead UCF past Detroit 75-70

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Adonys Henriquez scored 21 points, B.J. Taylor added 18 and Central Florida rolled to a 75-70 victory over Detroit on Wednesday night.

Henriquez had 10 points and Taylor hit three 3-pointers to help UCF build a 35-27 halftime lead. An 11-0 run, with two treys by Henriquez and one by Taylor, stretched the Knights' lead to 51-33 with 14:06 left.

Detroit chipped away, using a 9-1 surge to pull within 68-65 with 29 seconds left, but the Knights shot 7 of 8 from the line to seal it.

Henriquez and Taylor each hit four 3-pointers. Staphon Blair chipped in 14 points, and Dylan Karell dished out five assists for the Knights (6-4), who snapped a three-game losing streak.

Juwan Howard Jr. scored 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting, and Paris Bass added 11 for Detroit (6-5). Howard's 3-pointer gave the Titans their last lead with 9:40 to play in the first.
