LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Nevada casino regulator is scheduled to testify in federal court today about a ruse used to gain entry to high-roller suites at Caesars Palace. Nevada Gaming Control Board Agent Ricardo Lopez will testify in the criminal case against a Malaysian businessman and his son. Their attorneys say the ruse led to an illegal search.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada Republican Assemblywoman Michele Fiore says she's facing dozens of tax liens because an unidentified employee stole from her, draining her business's accounts. Fiore spoke to conservative radio host Alan Stock yesterday, saying her tax problems shouldn't disqualify her from chairing the Assembly tax committee.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (AP) — The family of a 14-year-old boy who was found dead after he was reported missing last week at Lake Tahoe says police should have responded faster when they reported him missing. Authorities believe Dejon Smith was killed by a falling tree, but the official cause of death is pending an autopsy. Police tell the Reno Gazette-Journal all signs point to a horrible accident.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada is among 28 states receiving a portion of $665 million in federal funding to develop innovative ways to provide health care, including how patients pay for it. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says Nevada and other states will look for ways to transform health care delivery and payment systems.
