LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada is among 28 states receiving a portion of $665 million in federal funding to develop innovative ways to provide health care, including how patients pay for it.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced Tuesday that Nevada had won a $2 million grant as part of the agency's State Innovation Model Design Awards, a program funded through the Affordable Care Act.
The federal agency says Nevada and other states and territories who won grants would be tasked with creating a plan to transform health care delivery and payment systems.
The state proposals must also lower Medicare, Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program costs.
