HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) — Jabari Peters scored 16 points, including 4 of 7 from 3-point range, to lead Sam Houston State to a 76-52 victory over Eastern Washington on Tuesday night.

All four of Peters' field goals came from downtown, and Sam Houston State (6-4) hit 13 of 25 overall from 3-point distance. DeMarcus Gatlin added 14 points for the Bearkats and Kaheem Ransom scored 13.

Sam Houston State controlled Eastern Washington for much of the night defensively, holding the Eagles to 36.7 percent shooting from the field, and 6 of 15 from the 3-point line.

After trailing 17-10 midway through the first half, the Bearkats outscored the Eagles 31-14 to take an 11 point lead into the break. They continued their dominance in the second half, pushing their lead as high as 28.

Tyler Harvey led the Eagles with a season-high 26 points. Venky Jois added 13 points for Eastern Washington (8-3).
