Drake holds off Jackson State rally, wins 76-66

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Reed Timmer had 13 of his 19 points in the second half and Drake held off a second-half rally to beat Jackson State 76-66 on Monday night.

Drake (2-8) went up 44-29 in the first three minutes of the second before Jackson State (1-9) rallied to within three on Raeford Worsham's three-point play with 9:07 left.

Timmer scored nine as the Bulldogs went back in front by 15 with a 17-5 run over the next 4:31. Jackson State closed to 72-64 but would get no closer.

Jacob Enevold Jensen had 17 points and eight rebounds, Chris Caird scored 14 and Gary Ricks Jr. added 11 for Drake.

Worsham had seven straight points early in the second half and scored 14 during the Tigers' rally to get within 55-52. He finished a career-high 27 and Dre'Sean Looney added 15 points, making 4 of 6 from 3-point range.
