HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Breanna Richardson scored 12 points and Martha Alwal added 10 as No. 22 Mississippi State held Southern Miss to just one first-half field goal on the way to a 73-46 victory on Sunday afternoon.

Southern Miss missed its first 16 shot attempts and committed 21 turnovers before the break, which led to 19 points for the Bulldogs (10-0). Mississippi State shot just 34.5 percent, but after allowing the fewest points ever in a half, held a 26-8 advantage at the break.

Richardson, Victoria Vivians and Dominique Dillingham all had three steals apiece and the Bulldogs shot 47.3 percent overall.

Jerontay Clemons led Southern Miss with 16 points, shooting 6 of 10 from the line and 5 of 14 from the floor. Tamara Jones added eight points and Kierra Jordan grabbed 11 rebounds. The Golden Eagles (6-3) finished with 32 turnovers.
