ISLIP, N.Y. (AP) — Suffolk County has announced its first human case of West Nile Virus this year.

The county health commissioner said Friday that the patient is a man over the age of 55 who lives in the Town of Islip (EYE'-slihp).

He was hospitalized in late August. He has since recovered and returned home.

The people who are most at risk include those over the age of 50, and those with compromised immune systems.
