ST. LOUIS (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals are closing in on an NFL playoff berth--and they did it without scoring a touchdown. Chandler Catanzaro kicked four field goals and the Cardinals overcame the loss of quarterback Drew Stanton to a knee injury with stifling defense that gave them a 12-6 win over the St. Louis Rams.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Russell Westbrook scored 26 points, and Oklahoma City took advantage of LeBron James' absence to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 103-94. That ended the Cavaliers' eight-game winning streak.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — LeBron James sat out the Cleveland Cavaliers' loss at Oklahoma City because of a sore left knee. Cleveland coach David Blatt says it's "nothing major," there are no plans for an MRI and James is listed as day-to-day.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Philadelphia 76ers have acquired veteran forward Andrei Kirilenko, a second-round pick in the 2020 draft, guard Jorge Gutierrez and cash considerations from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for forward Brandon Davies. Kirilenko has averaged 12 points, six rebounds and three assists per game throughout his 13-year NBA career.
SAN DIEGO (AP) — Baseball's winter meetings ended with an old-style rash of trades, with Alfredo Simon, Dee Gordon, Yoenis Cespedes (yoh-EHN'-ehs SEHS'-peh-dehs), Miguel Montero, Jeff Samardzija (suh-MAHR'-juh), Brandon Moss, Dan Haren and Howie Kendrick among the All-Stars dealt. Twelve trades involving 44 players were made over the four days, according to Major League Baseball, up from five swaps last year and three in 2012.
