GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) — A lunchtime crash of a small, private jet crashed into a house in a Washington D.C., suburb has left six people dead. All three people aboard the plane were killed. The victims on the ground were a woman and her young sons inside the home in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The two-story, wood-frame home was gutted by the impact of the crash and ensuing blaze.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House says U.S. embassies are preparing for a greater security risk with the release of a long-anticipated report on the CIA's harsh interrogation techniques. That release is planned for tomorrow. A White House spokesman says the administration strongly supports the release of the report from the Senate Intelligence Committee. Last week, Secretary of State John Kerry asked the Intelligence Committee to "consider" the timing of the release.
ST. LOUIS (AP) — A spokesman for the St. Louis County district attorney acknowledges that a law enforcement interview with a key witness in the Michael Brown shooting wasn't included in released documents. The material was released after a grand jury declined to indict the officer who fatally shot Brown. The documents include video clips and a transcript of Dorian Johnson's testimony to the grand jury.
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — The U.S. Border Patrol is seeking to hire many more female agents. Only 5 percent of its approximately 21,000 agents around the country are women, and the agency has long called this a problem. Nearly 120,000 women were caught crossing the border illegally in the fiscal year that ended Oct. 31.
NEW YORK (AP) — The actor who played the child character Pugsley on "The Addams Family" television series in the 1960s, has died. Ken Weatherwax was 59. A relative says Weatherwax died of a heart attack at his California home over the weekend. Pugsley was the son of Gomez and Morticia, a member of the family of macabre oddballs in the television series. The sitcom aired on ABC from 1964 to 1966.
