NYON, Switzerland (AP) — UEFA has charged Legia Warsaw over racism by fans at a Europa League match, adding to a series of disciplinary cases for the Polish club this season.
UEFA says its disciplinary panel will meet Tuesday to judge charges of racist behavior, crowd disturbances, damage and throwing fireworks.
Details of the racism incident in a 1-0 loss at Lokeren on Thursday were not specified.
Legia has already been fined over crowd disturbances at Metalist Kharkiv and an illicit anti-UEFA banner at home to Aktobe. That banner was fans' response to a controversial elimination from the Champions League qualifying rounds.
UEFA punished Legia for using an ineligible player against Celtic, which allowed the Scottish club to advance despite losing 6-1 over two legs.
