LAS VEGAS (AP) — Family members say Hall of Famer Jerry Tarkanian is due to head home from a Las Vegas hospital after treatment for pneumonia.

Amy Tarkanian says her 84-year-old father-in-law is scheduled for release Monday afternoon from Valley Hospital Medical Center.

Son Danny Tarkanian says medical tests confirmed his father had pneumonia, but cleared him of other ailments.

Tarkanian was hospitalized last Wednesday with respiratory distress.

The former UNLV coach dubbed "Tark the Shark" was also hospitalized in April after a heart attack, his second.

He had just returned home from a trip to Texas to watch the NCAA Final Four.

Tarkanian led three schools to the NCAA tournament, including the 1990 UNLV team that won a national title
