LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Officials at Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie are pushing to recruit more physicians but say it's a tough thing to do in a small city in Wyoming.

Hospital CEO Doug Faus says recruiting physicians to Laramie is tougher than getting them to consider bigger cities such as Fort Collins, Colorado. He says Ivinson has to make better offers to physicians than are made elsewhere.

The Laramie Boomerang reports (http://bit.ly/1y0p62b ) several administrators at Ivinson acknowledged the difficulty of the task during a recent hospital board meeting.

Laramie orthopedic surgeon Larry Jenkins says part of the difficulty is the unpredictability of the American health care system. He says physicians want to be guaranteed they can make a living and it's difficult to get them interested in a community like Laramie.
