NEW YORK (AP) — Texas leading scorer Isaiah Taylor will miss the championship game of the 2K Classic against California on Friday night because of a left wrist injury.
Taylor was injured late in the No. 10 Longhorns' 71-57 victory over Iowa on Thursday when fell after he was flagrantly fouled by the Hawkeyes' Gabriel Olaseni with 2:06 remaining. The starting point guard had his wrist wrapped in ice after the game.
The Longhorns say Taylor will be re-evaluated when they return to Austin.
Taylor scored 15 points Thursday, right at his team-leading average. The sophomore has started all 38 games at point guard in his career.
