CEDAR CITY — Two men were arrested and another was cited after a disagreement ended with shots being fired in Cedar City Monday, police said.
Three men got into a fight on the 200 North block of 1400 West after a disagreement broke out between 41-year-old Eduardo Quinones and 18-year-old Jose Christopher Carrasco at about 6:45 p.m., according to the Cedar City Police Department. Investigators said it appeared Daniel Aguirre joined Carrasco in assaulting Quinones.
“It was alleged during the fight that Aguirre had assaulted Quinones with a hammer,” a press release from the Cedar City Police Department reads. “Quinones did sustain minor injuries from the altercation. Quinones reportedly retreated to a vehicle and obtained a firearm.”

Quinones then tried to disable the vehicle Carrasco and Aguirre were attempting to leave the area in by firing multiple rounds into it, according to police. They said no one was struck by the bullets.
Police arrested Quinones on suspicion of reckless endangerment and discharging a firearm in city limits, according to the press release. Carrasco was arrested on suspicion of assault and disorderly conduct, in addition to a misdemeanor traffic warrant. Both men were booked into the Iron County Jail.
Aguirre was cited for assault and disorderly conduct before being released, police said.
The incident is still under investigation, police said.
