(AP) — A Mormon bishop in Los Angeles has apologized for the tone of a blog saying Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was unworthy to enter the faith's temples, but stood by his criticism of Reid's stands on some issues. Mark Paredes' blog, titled "Good Riddance to Harry Reid, the Mormon Senate Leader," drew criticism from the church and Mormon Democrats after it was published Wednesday in a Jewish newspaper.
CLARKSTON, Idaho (AP) — Clarkston police say they are treating the death of an elderly woman whose body was found in a park as suspicious. The Lewiston Tribune reports the woman's body was found by a passer-by Friday between the park and the Snake River. The cause of the woman's death is not yet known.
LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) — Lewiston police says officers have arrested a 20-year-old man for suspicion of the murder in the death of his infant son. The Lewiston Tribune reported yesterday that Cody Gossage was booked into Nez Perce County jail and is due in court today. Authorities say Jordan Big Man-Gossage died in a hospital Oct. 31 because of injuries sustained two days earlier.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho officials say a recent ruling upholding same-sex marriage bans in four states could cause the U.S. Supreme Court to take up Idaho's case. Earlier this year, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals overturned Idaho's gay marriage ban. But last week, a separate federal appeals court upheld the ban in Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee.
