CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — The late state assemblyman and supervisor who was a driving force behind the creation of several athletic fields in Carson City may soon have his name on the sports complex. The Nevada Appeal reports the Carson City Parks and Recreation Commission has voted unanimously to recommend the Edmond Sports Complex be renamed the Pete Livermore Sports Complex. Livermore died Oct. 20.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Discount airliner Spirit Airlines says it will begin flying nonstop between Las Vegas and a small regional airport southeast of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The new route will fly into Arnold Palmer Regional Airport just outside Latrobe, Pennsylvania starting April 16.

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — A new report says revenue at U.S. casinos jumped more than 6 percent in 2012, the first significant increase in three years as economic growth picked up speed and more casinos opened. Casino revenue grew by a fraction of 1 percent in 2010 and 2011 and fell in 2009.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — The University of Michigan is getting $65 million for a portion of its royalty interest in a capsule-based drug to treat Gaucher's disease. The school today announced it signed an agreement about Cerdelga with PDL BioPharma Inc., which is based at Incline Village, Nevada. Gaucher's disease is a rare genetic disorder, which causes excess fat to build up in the spleen, liver and bone marrow.
