LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — A home health company based in Lafayette, Louisiana, says it is working with two Alabama hospitals to serve seven counties in southeastern Alabama.

The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/1uvkfHn ) that LHC Group Inc., Troy Regional Medical Center and Southeast Alabama Medical Center are forming a joint venture. It will provide home health care after patients leave the hospitals.

Troy Regional is a 97-bed hospital in Troy, Alabama. Southeast Alabama Medical Center is a 420-bed not-for-profit hospital based in Dothan.

In July, the company bought 14 home health agencies in seven states.

The partnership announced Monday is LHC's latest venture with hospitals.
