SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The sheriff of Utah's most populous county is hoping for re-election on Tuesday.
Salt Lake County Sheriff Jim Winder is a Democrat who is being challenged by Republican Jake Petersen.
Petersen is a lieutenant overseeing special operations of the Unified Police Department.
As sheriff, Winder oversees the Unified Police.
Winder has served as sheriff since 2007.
