MIDVALE, Utah (AP) — Two people have been arrested in the burglary of a Mormon church in Midvale.
Police say 25-year-old Jacob Downing and 23-year-old Krystal Pressley were booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on a variety of charges, including burglary, public intoxication and interference with an arresting officer.
Investigators told KUTV-TV (http://bit.ly/1pgeZFY ) they're branding the break-in as a hate crime because the two suspects said they hate The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and wanted to damage the building.
Police say responding officers saw a man and woman leave with a microwave and some other items from the church.
