SALT LAKE CITY — Police are looking for a man who robbed a 7-Eleven Sunday night and who they say might have been involved with other recent robberies.

Police responded to a call of a robbery at a 7-Eleven, 1157 W. California Ave. A masked man wearing an oversized gray hoodie had approached the clerk, showed part of a handgun and took off with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Salt Lake Police Lt. Craig Gleason. He left the scene on foot and headed south.

The man's description matches suspects' descriptions in recent robberies, but police have not yet connected the man to the other incidents.

"You never know till you make the arrest, but several of the robberies we've had, the physical description is very similar and the clothing is similar. And this clothing does match up, but I would leave it to detectives to actually decide that they have a linked criminal event," Gleason said.

Anyone who has information regarding the suspect or sees anyone wearing an oversized grey hoodie and covering their face is asked to call police at 801-799-3000.

"We'll take any help we can get. If it isn't him, we'll stop and talk to someone and in three minutes we'll be out of their hair and go on their way. No harm, no foul," Gleason said.
