(KSL News) Salt Lake County employees are alerted to a possible security breach.
The county notified 116 workers last week that a computer disk containing their personal information was lost.
The disk was headed to a New York-based catalog vender in February when it was misplaced.
County executives have mailed employees' personal information to this vendor for several years, without approval from workers.
County officials say they will reimburse employee credit checks for up to a year. It's a move that could cost taxpayers 12-thousand dollars.
