It all started Friday on the Doug Wright Show on KSL Newsradio. Today, it looks to have been resolved on the Doug Wright Show.
On Friday, Nevada Sen. Harry Reid told Doug that Utah wasn't doing enough to fight polygamy and the related abuses. He even went farther, to praise Texas and point to the raid there as an example for Utah investigators to follow.
Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff took offense to the accusation from the senate majority leader. He told Doug Wright on Tuesday that the simple fact that the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS) compound was in Texas was proof that Utah's efforts were working.
Shurtleff returned this morning to the Doug Wright Show to announce that he and Reid have since had a telephone conversation. "I didn't know what to expect ‘cause I know that Terry Goddard, the attorney general in Arizona, spoke to him yesterday and said that it wasn't very productive. But today it was very productive," Shurtleff said.
Shurtleff says Reid has apologized and wants to work together to address the problem of polygamy.
