LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (AP) — Bryan Fletcher won the U.S. Nordic Combined Championships on Sunday for his first national title, beating brother Taylor Fletcher.

Bryan Fletcher, from Steamboat Springs, Colorado, soared 90.5 meters on his morning jump to take a lead of 1 minute, 34 seconds. Taylor Fletcher won the roller skiing to finish second overall, 56 seconds back.

"This is awesome!" Bryan Fletcher said. "I've been chasing the national title for a while. I think that I've been third like four or five times. Every time, including last year, I was really disappointed with my jumping. I would have an amazing (roller ski) race, but still wind up in third place because I was quite a bit back."

Adam Loomis of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, was third.
