KANAB — A former Kane County corrections officer is facing five sex-related charges, two of which involve sex abuse of a minor.

Tyler C. Fox was arrested Sept. 30 and booked into the Kane County Jail for investigation of pornographic material distribution, harmful material offered to a minor and sodomy of a minor — all third-degree felonies, Kane County Sheriff's Sgt. Alan Alldredge said.

Fox also faces charges of enticing a minor and sex abuse of a minor, both class A misdemeanors.

Alldredge did not share details of the alleged crimes or information on how they were discovered.

“None of this was a result of his employment with the sheriff’s office,” he said.

Fox was moved from the Kane County Jail to the Washington County Jail, Alldredge said. He has been also terminated from his position at the sheriff’s office.

“Even though it didn’t really happen at work, it still reflects badly on us," Alldredge said.
