NORTH ADAMS, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts student has been charged with making a bomb threat at the North Adams campus that forced evacuations.
Jarret Ferriter had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf in Northern Berkshire District Court on Tuesday to charges including willful communication of a bomb threat. He was released on $1,000 bail and ordered to stay off campus.
Authorities tell The Berkshire Eagle (http://bit.ly/1rWHGp8 ) the 21-year-old Ferriter, of North Adams, was tied to Monday's telephone threat by fingerprints and witness accounts, including a statement from his roommate who said Ferriter woke up that morning and said he would make a bomb threat to avoid class.
Ferriter reportedly apologized to police, saying it was a "silly college prank."
His court-appointed lawyer did not immediately respond to a call.
