ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) — Patriots Rule rallied late to win the $58,000 feature by a head at Santa Anita on Thursday.
Ridden by Fernando Perez, Patriots Rule ran one mile on the turf in 1:34.44 and paid $8.60, $4.40 and $3.20 at 3-1 odds.
Sammy Mandeville returned $4 and $3 as the 5-2 favorite, while Grachus the Hunter was another neck back in third and paid $7.40 to show.
Patriots Rule was last in the field of 10 approaching the half-mile pole before rallying for his fourth win in 10 career starts. He has earned $231,920, including $45,240 for his latest victory.
