CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — A southwest Idaho man police say bit a woman's face multiple times has been charged with aggravated battery.
Caldwell police arrested 23-year-old Jose Jamie Ruiz of Caldwell at about 3 p.m. on Friday after responding to a disturbance.
Police say Ruiz said the woman attacked him and his only means of defense was to bite because of a disability that causes him to have little strength in his arms.
Police say the woman had a bite mark on her arm, a swollen eye and torn skin on her eyelid and cheek.
The woman told police she told Ruiz to leave after he cursed at her.
Family members took the woman to a medical facility for treatment.
Ruiz is being held in the Canyon County Jail on $100,000 bond.
