SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Cody Fajardo's second rushing touchdown, a 2-yard run to start the fourth quarter, lifted Nevada to a 21-10 over San Jose State in the Mountain West opener for both schools Saturday night.
Fajardo scored on a 14-yard run in the third minute of the second quarter to give the Wolfpack (3-1, 1-0) a 7-0 lead, but San Jose State (1-3, 0-1) came back with a 32-yard field goal by Austin Lopez with no time left in the first half and Tim Crawley added a 24-yard run for a touchdown to start the second half as the Spartans built a 10-7 lead to start the final period.
Nevada erased the deficit 2:13 into the fourth quarter as Fajardo scored from the 2 for a 14-10 lead. Three minutes later Nigel Haikins picked off a Joe Gray pass and returned it 27 yards for a touchdown.
