STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) — Mikal Abdul-Saboor rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner from 13 yards out in overtime, and William & Mary came back to beat Stony Brook 27-21 on Saturday.
Stacey Bedell's 33-yard touchdown run gave Stony Brook (1-4, 0-1 Colonial Athletic Association) a 21-14 lead with 1:12 left in the game. Then Tribe quarterback Steve Cluley orchestrated a five play, 69-yard drive, capped off by a 52-yard scoring strike to Sean Ballard to tie the game and send it to overtime.
Stony Brook's Przemslaw Popek had his 36-yard field goal attempt blocked on its first possession in overtime.
Cluley finished with 243 yards passing and Ballard added six catches and 92 yards for William & Mary (4-1, 1-0)
Bedell rushed for 102 yards to lead Stony Brook.
