AMHERST, Mass. (AP) — A scoreboard has collapsed at a University of Massachusetts-Amherst football game, but no one was injured.

UMass athletics spokesman John Sinnett says the crash happened at about 5:15 p.m. Saturday during the third quarter of the Homecoming game against Bowling Green.

Sinnett says the rented video board had a hydraulic failure that caused it to collapse onto its support shaft. He says it dropped about 15 to 20 feet, but no one was near it.

Sinnett says the scoreboard was outside the stadium and had no impact on the playing surface or the game.
