SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The attorney for the woman who nearly died after unknowingly drinking iced tea mixed with chemicals at a suburban Salt Lake City restaurant says the family will enter into mediation with the business instead of immediately filing a lawsuit. Salt Lake County Attorney Sim Gill says that no charges will be filed in the incident because prosecutors found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports teenagers will now have to take biannual tests and meet reading requirements in order to graduate from seminary.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Authorities have filed animal cruelty charges against the owner of 10 horses who were found dead of dehydration, although they say it doesn't appear the owner's actions were intentional. Shamus Josef Haws was charged with 11 misdemeanor cruelty counts. The horses were found in a field near Magna July 18, when temperatures were close to 100 degrees.
