FRISCO, Texas (AP) — David Texeira scored two goals to help FC Dallas beat the Seattle Sounders 3-1 on Wednesday night.
FC Dallas (14-10-6) avenged two early season losses to Seattle (17-9-3) and beat the Sounders for only the second time in the last 10 meetings.
Texeira started the scoring in the eighth minute. He got behind the defense and hammered a shot to the far post. He added his third goal of the season — all against the Sounders — in the 78th minute. Andres Escobar worked his way through the Seattle defense and centered a pass to an open Texeira at the top of the 6-yard box.
In the 88th minute, Blas Perez headed a corner kick that slipped through the hands of Seattle goalkeeper Stefan Frei.
Seattle's Lamar Neagle tied it at 1 from distance in the 58th minute for his second goal in three games. The Sounders have given up seven goals in consecutive road losses.
