SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A San Antonio university has been awarded a $2.9 million federal grant to improve its offerings for graduate students.
St. Mary's University announced the U.S. Department of Education grant on Tuesday. The money will be awarded over a five-year period.
University officials say the funds will improve online offerings, promote community-based research and award scholarships for travel and financial aid. They say about 550 students will immediately benefit from the grant.
The Catholic university has about 3,800 students.
