TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals have signed former Arizona State running back Marion Grice from the San Diego practice squad.

Grice was a sixth-round draft pick of the Chargers this year and led the team in rushing in the preseason. He was re-signed to the San Diego practice squad after being released by the team on Sept. 1.

Grice, who transferred to Arizona State from Blinn Community College, scored 39 career touchdowns for the Sun Devils in just 23 games, ranking fifth in school history. He scored 20 touchdowns as a senior despite missing three games due to injury.

To make room on the roster, the Cardinals released punter Drew Butler.
